Class Descriptions

Led Primary series – Traditional Practice

The entire primary series is taught in the tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, in Mysore, India. It is a 1.75 hour class with many vinyasas, so be prepared to work hard. The class begins with a chant, which is optional. Level 2 class experience required.

Mysore style class– Traditional Practice

This class is structured to provide more one on one instruction. This is not a teacher led class, students move through the practice at their own pace with helpful instruction from the teacher. This class will allow you to move further into your practice.

Level 1 – Entry Level Class

An orientation to Ashtanga yoga, no previous yoga experience required. Learn ujjayi breath, bandhas, and sun salutations. All students are recommended to take a minimum of three Level 1 classes prior to taking any level 2 class.

Multi Level

This Ashtanga vinyasa class is taught to the level of the newest student. It is suggested that experience in at least one level I class is required.

 
Level 2 – Find Your Flow

Recommended for students who have learned ujjayi breath, are familiar with bandhas, and are comfortable with sun salutations. This class flows through a more traditional sequenced practice with variations to learn more of the full practice.

Structural – Working on the Black Strap

Based on the theory behind Critical Alignment® Therapy, using the black strap and working in to the spine to release tension and strain in the large surface muscles, then creating movement in those areas. This is a great class for repetitive strain injuries, shoulder problems, upper back, and lower back. An excellent class for all levels (no level 1 experience needed).

Hatha - Slow down your practice

Balance your mind and body through asana (postures), controlled breathing, and meditation. An excellent class for beginners.

Karma Yoga – Giving Back to the Community

This multi level class is taught by different teachers each week, no membership or pass card required. Classes are by donation (recommended donation of $5) with all donations going to the Karma Charity Fund of the month.

A gentle yet active class designed to lead expecting mothers through pregnancy, labour and childbirth. Taught in a relaxed atmosphere incorporating postures which will open and strengthen the body and calm the mind. This class is drop in, there is no need to register and you can start at any time you are ready throughout your pregnancy.

Join Corinne for yoga practice to reconnect with your body and mind. Babies are welcome up to crawling age. All mom’s and babies welcome, as early as 4–6 weeks after birth up to 7–8 months of age (crawling age).

This is a popular class! Each class is composed of breathing exercises, yoga poses, related games & activities to teach children about awareness and concentration, to build self–esteem and confidence, and to express creativity and imagination.
