Class Descriptions:

we recommend that all first time students take 3 Level 1 classes first

Level 1

entry level class - an orientation to Ashtanga yoga, no previous yoga experience required. Learn ujjayi breath, bandhas, and sun salutations. All students are required to take three Level 1 classes prior to taking all other classes.

Level 2

all levels class - with variations for everyone, this class works at the level of who is there. Recommended for students who have learned ujjayi breath, are familiar with bandhas, and are comfortable with sun salutations.

Level 3

discover your breath - move deeper into the practice and discover how to move with your breath through self practice (mysore style). This class is structured to provide more one on one instruction; there is less teaching yet more learning. If you enjoy level 2 classes, try this one.

Primary series

traditional practice - The entire primary series is taught in the tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, in Mysore, India.  It is a 1.75 hour class with lots of vinyasas, so be prepared to work hard.  The class begins with a chant, which is optional.  Mixed Level class experience required.

Structural Yoga

working on the black strap - Based on the theory behind Critical Alignment® therapy, using the black strap to work into the spine to relax the large surface muscles that we hold tension and strain in then creating movement in those areas. This is a great class for repetitive strain injuries, shoulder problems, upper back, and lower back. An excellent class for all levels.

Yin Yoga

compliment your ashtanga 'yang' practice - target the connective tissue of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. Asanas (postures) are held 3-5 minutes. A great class to compliment all levels of practice. Also an excellent class for all levels.

Hatha Yoga

slow down your practice - balance your mind and body through asanas, controlled breathing and meditation. An excellent class for beginners.
