Even at a young age, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. Born and raised in Calgary, I earned my degree in Education and have been teaching elementary school here ever since. In an effort to bring better balance to my life, I am now teaching kindergarten in the mornings and yoga in the afternoons and evenings.
Being open and willing to try new experiences is what first brought me to yoga. I was pleasantly surprised by the physical stamina needed, the presence of being, and the connection to one's inner spirit. I had no idea a physical exercise could lead to such significant personal discoveries. I learn something new every time I'm on my mat. Throughout my journey I have been fortunate to learn from many wise teachers who continue to inspire me. Life is dynamic and I know I will never stop learning.
When I'm not teaching or practicing yoga, you can find me hanging out with friends and family, playing floor hockey, skiing, reading, travelling, and relaxing. There is so much to enjoy in this world, so I try to be fully present in each moment.
