My journey toward yoga began in 2002 when I made the commitment to live a conscious life. I left my job in the corporate world and moved to Canada seeking a deeper connection.
My first yoga class was shortly after the birth of my second daughter, and something profound clicked for me during that first practice. The connection of the breath and body allowed me to quiet my mind and find a sense of peace. As my practice deepened I began to notice subtle changes in my life off my mat. I found it easier to breathe. I found myself living in the present moment and better equipped to handle the challenges of life and being a mother.
I feel fortunate to have been embraced by the fabulous Yogadotcalm community, and to have had the opportunities to learn which have come my way. I completed my teacher training here at Yogadotcalm, and am especially grateful for Amber Kyliuk, who has been my mentor. I studied with Gert van Leewen to be certified as a Critical Alignment Yoga Therapist, and completed courses with Janice Clarfield and Marina Locke to teach Prenatal Yoga.
Outside of yoga, you can find me hiking, camping, and doing anything that brings me closer to nature. I love biking, dancing to the music, reading, playing with my two dogs and of course, spending time with my family, my rocketman husband, Cory, and my two daughters who make me laugh out-loud every day.
