Life drew me to yoga or yoga drew me to life? Ashtanga, in its purity, nurtured me and blossomed a deeper understanding of Self and how to connect with heart, mind and humanity.
Over the years, I have been blessed to study with senior Ashtanga teachers all over the world; Nancy Gilgoff, David Swenson, Fiona and Julian Stang, Darby, Beryl Bender Birch, Manju Jois, David Williams, Matthew Darling and Terry Smith. In my visits to India I have practiced with Pattabhi and Sharath Jois, Rolf and Marcie and Jeff and Harmony, whom I take humble guidance from. The yoga community in Calgary is inspirational, and many teachers have influenced my practice over the years.
I practice and teach traditional Ashtanga, believing in the essence and nature of the practice. I encourage students to find the grace within their own practice and how they may connect asana to daily life. My intentions in teaching are to bring awareness to breath and inner reflection. I encourage students to have fun, not take themselves too seriously and to be authentic.
Yoga is a life long journey. It will pick you up when you fall, heal you when you're not well and bring light to you and those around you.
"Learn like you will live forever.
Live like you will die tomorrow." Gandhi
Be well,
